Hebron North Fish and Culture Tour Itinerary
Day 1
Leave by boat from Nain and begin Travel to Hebron.
approximately 6hrs travel
Sight seeing along the way
Point out past Inuit communities
Icebergs and polar bears
Shore lunch at Cut Throat and old Inuit fishing homestead
Arrive at Hebron, unload and tour of the Piercy Homestead where we will be staying for the duration of the trip.
Tour of Hebron, Moravian church, Graveyard, and surrounding area.
Day 2
Travel to Torngat Mountain National Parks base camp, Rose island, and North Arm.
Approximately 2hrs by boat to and from base camp and full day excursion there after
Sight seeing along the way
Stop in base camp for registration and polar bear safety video
Have a quick lunch
leave base camp and travel to North Arm for a guided tour provided by Parks Canada
Cast a line and try for some Arctic char
Shore Lunch
Travel to Rose island for a guided tour of the cultural significance and mass grave site
Travel back to Hebron
Day 3
Travel inland to Hebron fjord, Fishing in Ikarut, Ikuliatsuk, and Tasiujak
Approximately 1hr travel to Ikarut, full day excursion with approximately 1.5hr travel back from Tasiujak
Sight seeing along the way
Speak about multiple Inuit stories and legends
Try for Fish in each area
Shore Lunch
Travel back to Hebron
Day 4
Travel back to Nain
approximately 6hrs travel
Possible hike around the hill tops surrounding Hebron
Sight seeing along the way
Icebergs and polar bears
Shore lunch at Cut Throat and old Inuit fishing homestead
Arrive in Nain
